Vertical silos of awareness provide
tubes of enlightenment or so said;

Shallow sheets of silk sleep well
when shadows defend not all the
secret places of the noisy night;

Arm-in-arm  we sign seduction papers
with ease and snap-less transparencies
gentle fall away leaving us exposed
to each others angled caressing;

Sensuous explosions send us into
foxholes of delight and orgasms,
releasing us from our contriteness;

Time suspends herself from school
teaching all that was and is premature.

On the Morning of our First Snow

nature covers mother with a
white blanket of seductive softness;
animals chill out in nests or holes or caves
waiting for others to venture out first;
fires heat the insides of dwellings
while others use their bodies to keep warm;
some play with sleds and skis while others
hunt with bows and arrows for sport;

factories delay their openings an hour yet
the more progressive do not open at all;
some cook on wooden stoves,
some on butane grills, but some
may not cook at all in urban cells;
somehow,
somewhere the news shares tall the
continued negativity that enshrouds us all;
hope shines through our minds,
like the sun through the clouds,
and each day is a blessing for those
who seem to believe more than I;
but, in my wool bathrobe I sit
in my favorite chair and on my lap
sits Piper my Siamese cat and
together we share an unspoken bond,
contentment and happiness regardless
of dire prognostications around us.

Rainy Day Reminders Series #12

the corners of

our world form

tidy little boxes

of litter in which

we find ourselves

daily like cats.

Rainy Day Reminders Series #11

we look inside ourselves
with eyes full of emptiness
as if hoping to see
something we recognize
from the past, doubting
who we have become
because it has drifted
so far away from that
which we wanted yesterday.

Rainy Day Reminders Series #10

love extends her arms
around me in a protective
way, encouraging the
apathy of feelings to
disappear into a trusting
view of life ever lasting.

Rainy Day Reminders Series #9

if we could alter the curved reality of linear time,

would we ever need to extend our thoughts into

a dimensional reality where time merely mirrors

distorted views of one truth that is impossible to recognize

while appearing unrestrained in our own time frames.

Rainy Day Reminders Series #8

our bodies, we have the
predisposed seeds of our destruction,
living our lives as if that reality
does not exist for us or worse we are
oblivious that reality exists at all.

Rainy Day Reminders Series #7

there is no perfect lover
with all the flaws that
we so easily possess; but,
there is an unrestrained
quest for such, accepting
substitutions that frequently
leave us unnaturally disappointed.

Rainy Day Reminders Series #6

take me back to the beginning
and let me see for myself,
let me form my own
theories and speculations,
let me experience fear's totality,
and the muse of creativity
before you provide me
with distorted views of both,
let me bathe in  the unrecognizable
limestone waters of poverty
while learning how to heal.

Rainy Day Reminders Series #5

communes of hope are sprinkled
liberally and equally throughout
all my patterns of regret upon which
I have become fixated, knowing all
the time were wasted pondering, a
relatively unknown yet faulty conclusion.

Rainy Day Reminders Series #4

death becomes us all
as we lay gracefully,
transfixed in our
silk-covered metal coffins,
ceremoniously prone
for easy viewing of all,
the passing of rubber-neckers
if we have any at all;
and, while our appetites
for life are finally gone,
our eyes are finally opened
to all the unanswered
questions we had asked earlier.

tasting the liquid briefly
as it passes on its way
at an alarming rate
to parts of a decomposed
mind that additively
relies on the contents of
eye-opening caffeine.

each day is mine yet
only temporarily not
because it changes
quickly into tomorrow,
moving faster still
into a plethora of yesterdays,
but like me, each day has

to enjoy or dislike
and that choice is mine.

sleep away the nausea
is what they say to do,
but I never can remember that
when asked about what to do;
sleep away the nausea and
for that relief several pills I take,
but never once has it
happened that way for me,
when dry heaves seem to
be the only order of the day.

From the Morning Early Series

inside the miracle of life
lies our first steps towards death
and a willingness to accept a
blind faith approach to everything;

inside our beautiful minds
are the self-destructive qualities
we must all learn to master if
we are to complete our journey;

inside our well-crafted bodies
is housed a plethora of
predispositions we must learn
to accept along the way; yet,

inside of everything is our
unusual capacity to love.

From the Morning Early Series

My expressions are my own
mixed with interpretations
of others thoughts who have
been admired over the years
when most simply faded away;
My eyes see what I imagine
and what I have been exclusively
conditioned  to imagine from
birth seeking to reaffirm purpose
while selectively imagining all else;
My ears hear it all unfortunately
filtering out the priceless thoughts
of those convincing me otherwise
while retaining what little worthless
gossip is necessary for my survival;
My words are my own as well
innocently and harmfully spouting
out what I feel without the slightest
regard for editing-out the sarcasm
necessary to keep a few friends;
My life revolves around yours
while yours revolves around all else
and we tumble into turmoil
constantly like two male cats trying to
control the only nipple available.

FEARS  //  RESOLUTION

Through your eyes, I see my weaknesses...

Through your eyes, no need for meaning...

Through your eyes, illusions become transfixed...

Through your eyes, doubts seem pointless...

Through your eyes, my illnesses need no cure...

Through your eyes, my life becomes a metaphor...

Through your eyes, all my questions disappear.

can it be...
will it be...

look into my eyes and
see for yourself;
I am old,
different from you,
yet still alive;
what makes us
who we are,
gives us desires
or prevents
one from growing?
who's to say,
but still, it is.

you lay beside me
every night,
but you do not want
to make love to me;
yet,
you tease me into
thinking another day
perhaps...  so, I will
not look for another
until later while I
give you
another chance.

what will my fruit trees bear, if
I were to plant them all today?
would they be:
apples
pears
peaches
or cherries
as they are already
in the ground?

how worthy was 2004
to my success...
how worthy indeed?
last year provided me with
enough encouragement
to get me into this year
and perhaps beyond if my
hands hold the right cards.

A Look Into Now Series #34

on my knees
in front of you
I find myself standing;
hands behind my back
secured with ropes
like the one that
loosely hangs
around my neck;
your nakedness
surrounds me while
your swollen breasts
warm my face
and your hairless legs
lock down my arms
against the middle
of my bruised back;
sorrows roll down my skin
in thin rivers of sweat
as we become forever
severed from reality.
