and how many woke up
beside new faces, new
bodies, lovers who paired
or simply ended up together
not by choice of selection,
eliminating possibilities;
and how many lives will
be altered for the better or
for the worse or in between,
or maybe even stayed the same;
and who ended up with no one
to begin their lonely lives
just as the old ones ended.
