around and around and around
the blades of the fan turn,
motion without tiring,
but the metal grinding noises
that it makes with each revolution
spin upon my nerves,
creating anxious frustration
that whirls and twirls through me
faster and faster and faster
with each cycle and the gentle
wind the fan creates becomes
more annoying than a blessing.
