Untitled

Mornings appear without hesitation
while the sun hides behind clouds on the
horizon and westerlies blow yesterday's
coolness steady, postponing the humid
rains to fall; still, mornings are the best here
once the snowbirds have left and
we have the world to ourselves again;
bright orange streaks throw blackened grey
crows squawking at seagulls and the pelicans
keep them at bay while the westerlies
continue to blow steady and cool.
