sandstone habitats stand
silent
against the sun;
amidst each other's presence,
they savor innocent virtues
in a somewhat erect fashion,
not realizing imaginations of
visitors,
whose countless photographs
have
left them in irreparable
decay;
serpents slither and slide
through
open windows seeking escape,
sensing redemption on the
other side,
only to find seas of
sandstone
sitting crooked in the
setting sun.
