my animals as well as
my thoughts, all encompassing;
I am surrounded by my landscaped yard
full of trees and bushes that
offer me colorful security;
I am surrounded by my gazebo
that hovers over me and all the chairs
underneath that encircle me;
I am surrounded by my neighbors
who are surrounded by their neighbors
and by communities surrounding communities;
I am surrounded by myself
and an ever present awareness of
who I am at any given moment;
I am surrounded by the love of family
and the love of their families and by
by all these other families that came before;
I am surrounded by God and His creation
for as long as He allows and then
I will be surrounded by Him forever.
