and serves it fresh to those who
dare attempt to consume her riches;
on uncharted waters, we set sail
for undiscovered truths, leaving behind
justice and ethics since they require
too much space in water-logged minds
we must inevitably take along with us;
roasted flavors, freshly brewed
permeate from below decks and we
regurgitate so can can consume more;
with no land in sight, we abandon ship
for our new destinations, hoping we
are not debriefed too long once we
have been rescued from the murky
waters, and upon reflect reflection
realize, it started with our first cup.
