Soon To Be

we are given what we are given

and stand where we should stand,

living the way we should live and

thinking thoughts we should think

and few escapes these assignments;

but, when they do, it is remarkable

in the way they shine like stars in

the vast universe of possibilities,

taking on responsibilities and

thinking whatever they want to;

we all aspire to be those stars

but few ever reach so high and

when they do the rest of us just

sorta dies inside as we know

that we were never meant to be;

and, in that knowledge there is

despair and discrepancies in what

we each had been given when in

theory we all have equality but 

reality proves that not to be true.
