a not so bitter cold
but cold nonetheless
sweeps through our
valley, beloved by some,
but not so much by others;
we tremble at the thought
lost heat for a while,
vowing to stay inside,
venturing out as necessary;
galloping emotions of
claustrophobic anxieties
for us to prematurely
conclude that winters are,
regardless of the holiday,
no longer the best part of
each new and cold year.
