it is a reckless course that takes
us away from common sense
and puts us on a path of self-
destruction with our actions; yet,
it is a frequent direct that most
of us seem to take quite often;
it it unmistakable, the cries
of ritualistic flagellation uttered
forth once the crimes have been
detected and the fragile promises
made that this is my very last;
it is predictable, the forgiveness,
that rolls off our tongues so easily
and the false expectations we accept;
but, that seems to be the price we
all must pay for freedom since one's
trust is so naturally hard to get.
