sits between us,
preventing the exercising
of control or
of its illusive insights;
we judge
and are judged
by our willingness
or lack thereof
to play along;
we learn
and pass along
what we think is
survival skills
and knowledge, but
never fully understand
the point or
the way we've been pointed
all our lives;
a round table of lies
sits between us
and we learn to accept
what we can.
