there is no puzzle
no key to life
just living and dying
and what one might do
in between the two;
life holds no mysteries
no subtleties
just minutes and hours
of the day and
weeks and months
of the year and
what all will be told
when the truth is known
and our life did
not last very long;
and, in the process of
its unfolding, we
learn a thing or two
about ourselves and
it is that mystery that
sends us to our graves.
