as did Saturday, but time
we were fortunate enough
to see its passage at least for
a while until death takes us;
Monday serves up Tuesday
the Wednesday celebrates
its claim to fame briefly
while life huddles around its
flames even on a sunny day
in the Southern hemisphere;
Friday has been begotten
and forgotten by Thursday
whose sole purpose was to
finish out the week, but time
waits for none of us as we
make plans to celebrate yet
another fast-paced weekend.
