Fortunate

the sun squeezes its way
through tree branches until
it reaches it goal of touching
everyone who is foolish

enough to be exposed to light;
within minutes and
over a lifetime
the damage is done
and we are marked for life
with holes in our bodies
once the cancer is removed
that could have killed us.
