on the on the pale decking,
its surface warm to the touch,
a cat lays prone in the sunlight
its body absorbing the heat,
its mind calm and its senses
relaxed as defenseless and
no one around notices its
vulnerabilities as it lays with
it back to the rest of life;
we, like the cat are defenseless
we it comes to our own survival
in the high stakes game of life,
living vicariously off the toil
of others while reaping the
same benefits from mankind.
