Being Here

against the wall we stand
resisting the resistance
wondering and waiting
how long will it take for
them to arrive here?
fixed and ready, we are
no prior experience
do we have...
it matters not
we are told,
resistance is resistance
all the same.
mental bayonets we have
along with our mental
pistols and rifles,
shooting virtual bullets
at the approaching crowd.
determined and resolute
we are that this day will
go down in history...
and we will be remembered
all the same for being here.
