moments are lived in
minutes pass by slowly
hours tend to linger
days flow into weeks
months give rise to years
decades become memories
age allows us few luxuries
other than what we recall
even when those glimpses
into the past are vague...
past supports future
future relies on the past
we are creatures of now
not understanding
how long it will last.
