We hang in the balance
like we always did,
hoping for what never came
as all of us typically did,
and we died as we could
sharing what we had,
taking what we needed,
but always waiting to
"pay back" those who
made it unfold like this;
those who never knew...
those who never understood...
those who never cared...
until...
they hung in the balance.
