fashionable as sex,
yet love is what we said
and sex is what we did;
love was discovered
and experienced in
many ways before we
learned of marriage
and obligations that
corrupted our plans;
love held us together
while drawing us apart
as we learned of
other opportunities
available only at night;
love conquered fears,
shattered dreams,
and provided us with
endless fantasies that
were never to be;
love brought harmony
and meaning into a
child's life and gave us
motivation to mature.
