Giving Way

circles on the outdoor carpet

redirect my attention while

a scarf around my head and

neck protect me from an

early morning creeping chill;

a windless environment does

not protect me from the sun

and endless noise corrupts

any sanctuary this day,

noticing the tall green grass

will soon turn to brown

giving way to winter again.
