the darkness lays on the ground hard so
not even the blades of grass can be seen,
when the light steals thelight that guides
us all through the day... we lay down our
spirits so that our egos will not interfere
as we wonder what we have lost and what
we have gained by this transition, especially
if we prefer one over the other... time stills
the ageless feeling of concern that envelop
all those who have grown old, burning both
ends of their candles when the power goes
out just so they can see all the alternative...
darkess yields to no one in particular but
caters to everyone as an opportunity to rest
the consciousness and dream the fantasies
that only an imagination can create... it is
not the young that succeeds in this task as
it those who have been around the block.
