we mourn the loss of freedom
with our covert actions,
speculating on the cost of our
radical behavior... while
freedoms come and go with
the changing tide of political
discourse just as easily as they
were destroyed years ago...
we mourn the loss of innocence
growing up in a hateful world
similar to the one our ancestors
escape from years ago...
history repeats itself in magnificent
abundance as each generation
struggles with its own frailties,
lamenting those who went before
paving the road later destroyed,
only to rebuild with a renewed
vigor and prosperity... we curse
the dawn on change, tearing down
the borders once separating us.
