strafing the beach
seagulls swoop down
for spotted food,
lone jet skis
show their white tails
along the horizon,
breezes under umbrellas
blow curiously constant
all morning long,
dirty green waters
surround the shoreline
moving westward,
parachutes dangle people
off in the distance as
barely seen boats pull,
strangers sit in chairs
\soaking up the sun
chatting about nothing,
buxom ladies bend
over their belongings
without the slightest concern,
heat from the sun
relentless in its nature is
that which is desired.
