in different directions, we go
the ying and the yang of us,
opposites attract and repel,
we are no different with our
personality and beliefs...
the way we were raised does
not help the relationship either,
I push when I should be pulling
and pull when I should be pushing,
rhythms out of sync and never were,
struggling to be heard... be seen...
be in control of it all... we wonder
why thirty years has passed, believing
we might have slept through several
years with any realization... but
that notion seems preposterous,
just like our longevity... lasting
longer than it should have and
longer than either of us wanted.
