Rooms

in my mental mansion
each room provides me
with a new and different fantasy
which is lived out when I sleep;
each morning, I pretend
not to notice what
living this fantasy,
if just briefly,
had done to me;
each night,
off to bed early I go
in the hopes
of finding a room
from which
I will never return.
