TODOS

there are always lists
of things to do,
when we finish one,
we start another,
never blinking eyes,
never questioning;
lives revolve around
and depend upon lists,
crossing off the items
on by one
is almost spiritual
for some
while others delay
and procrastinate,
waiting till the end
or near end
to get it done;
but,
regardless
of the flow,
we always start again,
a never ending game
until death
stops us cold.
