take us for a joy ride around the
worn down cobble stone streets
of the ancient city called Madrid;
intertwined emotions envelop us
as they carry and transport our
minds into a fireworks display of
dreaded desires like forcing an
erotic expression into a cage;
we reach out and touch the
silhouettes of all our metaphors
and for a while, contemplate
that friendships need more than
just a romantic European vacation.
