fall leaves fall slowly
like values and ethics
but when they do, they,
cover the ground completely
killing the grass that has
new grown out of the
heat of the summer sun,
and knowing winter is
close behind these truths,
are raked up and burned
to make room for new a
new truth growth in spring.
