which turns to blues
that turn to whites
as I am left amazed
by the passage of time;
wisdom fades into truth
which turns into justice
that turns to equality
and I am left amazed
by our humanity;
life begins when it does
and ends when it's over
but what we do in between
is one on our shoulders
if we have any at all;
we are simply creatures
with minds and eyes
and minds and egos
with a capacity to grow
and inflict pain on each other
conducting experiments
as to what motivates
when nothing does, then
we are done with you.
