justice appears in a darkness
consuming all truth and lies
while defecating waves of
soon to be broken promises;
pointing a finger at each other,
we acknowledge mistakes,
surrendering not to their
brands of tactical fairness;
inequality overrides equality
as it always does and we
murder our own hearts, trying
to sleep it all off each night;
power is controlled by those
we have grown up to detest
and still, we hesitate not in
the doorways since there
is not a good reason why.
