CAC Sixty Six

It was
a century cut in half,
when in between
perplexing pyramids
we sat in the sand,
in the sun with shades...
the sky's earth found us
lurking, smirking with
translations of transcripts
and graduations as off
into the wilderness
we flew... and now,
here again but
no sand and sun...
in between obelisks
of steel and glass we stand
with grape vines
surrounding,
drinking their nectar
as if we never
left each other at all,
bouncing around stories
of IQ's and horses
and trips to red seas
that were never red at all;
beguiled by time
and life together,
we roamed freely
and beyond it seems,
yet
always returning
we do
to that which
we hold so dear...
remembering
a life
we never really
knew we had
until it was found.
