my heart is damaged
in many ways it seems
and not just from health
but from my families;
the one with whom I
was raised and the one
with whom I now live;
as strange as it may seem
I don't recall my heart
at all during my first
encounter with another
family, so does that mean
there was nothing there at
all or that I did not see?
