monuments to life
we build as if
trying to recreate
previous appreciations
retrospectively; but,
our creations are
only tombs of thoughts
and beliefs once
held in error when
bored with patience
since tolerance was lost
along with our virginity,
once life allowed us
to see all her horrors.
