one side looms,
a day of sun buffers
the other side,
and in the middle
we sit,
looking all around
as if
we could spot the
first few drops
to fall;
no one knows
and
no one should
predict
the future with
circumstances
beyond our control,
and yet,
that is what we
try to do,
and,
sadly enough,
it is just for that
we listen.
