The Way We Should

seeds of doubt are buried deep within

the souls of all of us...  our minds poluted

by these thoughts and concerns...  revolving

around the notion we are all sinners...

of some sort...  and yes, to that we agree

but predicated upon what my dear...

some out-dated notion of religious freedom?

but when we think of sin, we think

of the comparison between good and evil

but those constgructs are made made

and have very little to do with religion;

or, is sin...  simply a concept of non-belief?

a trite thought indeed...  but one with

which many of us grapple like a bird

after a rains storm, looking for food and

without worries expect it to be there...

we seize each day without thought

oblivious to the concerns of others as we

wind our way in and around the traffic

with only one thought in mind...   and, it is

this one thought that revolves not around sin

or those who have a predisposition fo it;

we cleanse ourselves of life by living it

and how we have been taught to do by

those elders to whom we owe no allegiances

just a simple "howdy do" on our way...

we are livimng proof our sin personified

in all aspects of our lives because we chose

to live this way rather than the way we should.
