that we call darkness... allowing us
to see less than we see during the day,
even when our depth of field is often
curtailed, leaving us to squint in the
brightness of the light... and, therein
lies the struggle between good and
evil perpetuated in all our myths
and legends we used to teach in our
play schools... since it was there we
learned how to dance and socialize,
treating each other the same regardless
of our smiles and the color of our eyes;
we were all clowns at best acting out
roles written down by our parents on
the first day we took a breath... and
pure air filled our lungs - our blood
with a new sense of life but not one
of purpose... that would come later
if at all... we saw images of images
and knew none of them as we could
not articulate a word of understanding
or doubt our own speculations as we
had none and would continue to have
none until we reached that age of
awareness that made us all adults.
