Solstice Change

heat penetrates our thoughts
a lazy attitude created,
humidity's moisture lurks
inside our heads, making
somewhat sluggish...
bug bites swell our skins
protrusions of a kind
lesser than most...
insects linger outside a
tad longer than expected,
we formulate plans to
stay inside until coolness
sends them into hiding;
heat penetrates our thoughts
fusing all ideas together,
solid mass of consciousness
bleeds out sympathies of
an unknown kind as we tend
to retrospect our destinies,
formulating new plans and
new tactics to deal with the
new summer solstice change.
