swirling light
mixes with fall colors
clouds obscure
a gentle blue sky,
insecurities below the surface
swim in the shallows
feeding quietly,
leaves dangle
in the breeze waving
goodbyes to lost
sights and sounds
that have prolonged
a quiet death.
