Encapsulated

a wall of tall magnolia trees
dark green and bold
standing guard with indifference
between a future and a past
that has no interpretations
of the present that feeds
their existence and survival;
a wall of delicately fragile flowers
colorful and romantically red
grown in random patterns
fill the vacancies of doubt
and apprehension that linger
in and around my desperation;
a whole host of souls of citizens
past dwell in an abrupt juxtaposition
to the crimes of my emotions
preventing me from seeing the
daylight of my love for you.
